Intentions

My intentions within this journal are twofold. I intend to write capable and concise thoughts in relations to what I am/have learned at full sail to come back to and reflect on in the future. I also intend to learn not just the coursework but my ability to understand how to apply them to a business standpoint. My goal is to create a new type of production company that is utilized to help projects reach their full potential when a studio receives negative feedback on a project. Less of a replacement production studio and instead a consultation studio. My hope is to utilize experimental film making and visual storytelling to help incorporate an outside the box thinking that can be utilized by other, bigger studios. In essence I’m hoping to make a kind of “pilot fish” styled company. something that makes revenue from helping a bigger company. Meanwhile in the business of film class I intend to pay close attention to common weaknesses present in the present day formula and exploit them as something my company will provide. Script analysis and Talent directing both will be on the extreme end of my goal. I understand having a second company coming in to reevaluate a standard practice is something that would be met with instant hostility. However, I think that generating a collaborative environment can help potentially help save failing media projects. The idea of putting this all into practice however I would argue heavily relies on an understanding of storytelling and script writing first and foremost. My dream is that one day this type of company is sought out whenever a producer or director feels that their project is stalling. I want this to be a new type of consulting company. One that not only comes in to identify problems, but comes into the environment to teach and correct employees in proper methods.
